Introduction
------------

Tetroid is a FREE puzzle game for PCs by Jake Birkett Computer
Solutions Ltd. It is based on the famous Russian puzzle game
by Alexey Pajitnov. It also contains an enhanced mode that
uses more shapes!

Jake Birkett was the lead developer, artist, musician and
tester for the game. The game was developed in Blitz Plus
and features original music.

The game is freeware and comes with no warranty of any kind.
However, the music is copyrighted, so please do not distribute
it, except with the game.

System Requirements
-------------------

PC running Windows 95 or higher
Graphics Card capable of 800x600 32-bit colour
DirectX 7 or higher
Sound Card (recommended)
4Mb Hard Disk Space

How To Play
-----------

Rotate the shapes that fall down so they fit together at the
bottom of the screen. When you succeed in making a whole row,
it will disappear and points will be awarded. Every 10 lines
the background and music will change and the shapes will
drop faster. Game over occurs when the screen fills up with
shapes and a new shape cannot appear. Consider yourself a
master if you can reach 100 lines!

Keys
----

Use the <Left> and <Right> cursor keys to move the shape.
Press the <Up> cursor key or <Space> to rotate the shape.
Use the <Down> cursor key to drop the shape faster.

Press <Escape> to access the in-game menu.
Press <Ctrl> + <X> to quickly exit the game.
Press <B> to display the next background.
Press <T> to play the next music track.
Press <F12> to take a screenshot.
Press <M> to instantly minimise the game (even in full-screen mode)

Tetroid.ini file
----------------

The Tetroid.ini file can be edited with Notepad and controls
several aspects of the game as follows:

You can disable music and/or sounds by changing
the corresponding flags to 0.

Set Fade to 0 to skip the intro.

If you encounter any framerate or graphical glitches,
try changing Flip False from 0 to 1.

If your system cannot run 800x600 in 32-bit colour, try
changing the 16Bit Graphics flag from 0 to 1.

To run full-screen, change the Windowed Mode flag
from 1 to 0.

If you want to prevent common Windows keys from interfering
with the game, change Lock Keys from 0 to 1.

You can change the speed at which the shapes drop
when you press the down cursor key with the Drop
Faster Speed flag. Make the number smaller to go
faster and larger to go slower. The default setting is 10.

Version 1.3 Changes
-------------------

- Changing timing code so that it'll run on slower PCs.
Bug Fix: removed debug zeros from under "Lines" text.
Bug Fix: made sure that boot errors show properly.

Version 1.2 Changes
-------------------

Bug Fix: the known issue with the Lock Keys ini flag hs been resolved
by using StickyKey_dll.dll instead of Winlock.dll. Also the new .dll
is a lot smaller.

-------------------

- Windowed mode is now default. You can change to full-screen
from the main menu and your choice is saved back to the .ini file.

Also it is harder so that 100 lines is barely possible.
- Advanced Mode: Big shapes appear less frequently.
- Down cursor key speed has been doubled and can be set
  in the .ini file.
- Now each shape type is always the same colour.
- Boss Key! press m to instantly minimise the game
  (even works in full-screen mode)
- Common Windows keys that interfere with the game can be
disabled in the .ini file (Warning: there may be other side effects)
- When the game is minimized, it will pause and the music
will stop. Also the locked windows keys will become unlocked.
- Tetroid icon now shows on title bar.
- You can now close the window with the X or the System Menu.
Bug Fix: drop speed now resets when you start a new game.
Bug Fix: improved fast dropping to avoid flicker.
Bug Fix: Big T shape now appears in Enhanced Mode
Bug Fix: The highlighted menu item will no longer be selected
if you click outside of the menu.
Known Issues: If you use the Lock Keys ini flag, Alt+F4 or System Menu/Close will not work.
