Holiday Bonus is out for iPhone/iPad and Android!
I’m proud to announce that Holiday Bonus is now available for iPhone and iPad as well as Android smartphones and tablets!
It feels really good to play the game with your fingers on a touchscreen whilst sitting in a cosy chair by the fireplace.
There are two versions: one has smaller levels suitable for phones, and the HD version for iPad and Android tablets has larger levels like the PC/Mac versions.
You can get the phone version from here:
And the HD version with larger levels from here:
I really hope that you enjoy playing Holiday Bonus on your mobile device. Please tell you friends and family. Many thanks.

Congratulations Jake! Already looking forward to some sales stats 😉
Did you port your game yourself to Android/iOS ?

Hi Leo. A friend, Damien Sturdy, ported the game to Unity (he already had a working match-3 engine). He did a great job and that allowed us to put out iOS/Android versions and soon a web version. Also there’s a WP7 version on the way from another developer.

I know it’s actually not of my business. But do you give the developers a percentage of the royalities or hire them on an hourly basis or how do you do it?
I also plan on doing iOS/Android versions of my game but unfortunatly my code relies heavily on my own engine framework so I actually need to port the whole thing myself, I guess that’s gonna be a lot of work…

50/50 split of net revenue (before any expenses like marketing). They get to use my IP plus I’ve paid for all the graphics/music originally and then I use my producing skillz(TM) to make sure it gets done to a good quality.

@Leo: Of course it would be hard to get someone to do a port for you on a rev share basis unless you’ve already shipped games successfully. I don’t know what your status is with regards to that.

Thanks for the info. No I haven’t shipped any games yet.My first one will be out in 2012 I am slowly nearing completion which is really a great feeling.
But that’s not the main problem I think. The problem is that I actually developed a highly specialized game&rendering framework which can’t easily be replicated with unity or any other engine out there. Not because it’s so good, no rather because it’s so weird 😉
Anyone trying to port that framework would need to learn it first. So it will probably go faster if I port it myself. And since I use C++ especially the Android port will be a pain …
